The purpose of this page is to help explain and record our monetary needs and their use.

We need donations to work better than we work alone. We will work, OUT OF POCKET we will work and get our miracles done. But with your support we can do so much more! Please donate through Paypal, or walk into Greywolf Veterinary Hospital and ask to donate directly into our account or use our donation box there.

How can we make it simpler for you than to just show you how much it costs to do what we do? We've placed this year on top.

2012 ANIMAL VETERINARIAN BILLS

Animal name Date Type of visit and summary Cost
Resq Rabbitz 5/7/2012 Resq received a wellness exam from Dr. Jennifer Tavares. She instructed us in rabbit keeping and took a fungal check of some weird fur issues Resq was having at the time. The fungal check came up negative. 146.80
Resq Rabbitz 7/10/2012 Resq was neutered without issue at Greywolf Veterinary Hospital. Greywolf does blood tests etc., they are not a "cheapie" vet if you wish to save money. They are someone to take your animal to if you absolutely must have the best care. 162.95
Olivia Lapin 9/12/2012 Olivia received a wellness check up, toe nail trim and X-rays under the discretion of Dr. Jennifer Tavares at Greywolf Veterinary Hospital. 154.80
Olivia Lapin 9/24/2012 Olivia saw Dr. Tavares again, we will need to check records to get the reason but it was for something pain related. She was given metacam. 73.55
Olivia Lapin 11/14/2012 Olivia was spayed at Greywolf. Greywolf does every blood test possible and goes through every procedure slowly. They are not "cheapie" surgeons. 297.55
Olivia Lapin 12/3/2012 Olivia Lapin had lung cancer, and rather have her struggling to breath in her final moments we bestowed the only kindness we could give her and gently ended her life with the help of Dr. Tyler of Greywolf Veterinary Hospital. She was euthanised with painkiller under our watch, was cremated and returned to our rescue as her final resting place. Rest in peace, good bunny. 416.15
Atreyu Longview

12/17/2012 Neutered at Best Friends Pet Care in Port Angeles 96.15

Cost represents gas and time.
5.00
Olivia Lapin 8/7/2012 Olivia was the first transfer to our shelter from Olympic Peninsula Human Society. She had been a biting, scratching, unsociable bunny that had lived there for a year. We picked her up while dropping off a donation so no costs are listed here. 0.00
Atreyu Longview
(dog)
11/19/2012 Atreyu was abandone at a friend's house, we took over him and the cost of his care. We were already set up for dogs, but we needed just a few minor supplies hence the 20.00 20.00
Lakritze London 12/17/2012 Lakritze was adopted from Rescue Every Dog on this date. Since we were clearly rabbit rescuing rabbit lovers, the adoption was free. They drove out to us, no costs are listed here. 0.00
Total animal rescue costs for the year of 2012 25.00

2013
2013 ANIMAL VETERINARIAN BILLS

Animal name Date Type of visit and summary Cost
Resq Rabbitz 1/22/2013 Resq went in for a wellness check up with Dr. Jennifer Tavares of Greywolf Veterinary Hospital. Other than a sore mouth for which he was given some medicine, he was fine. 84.25
Atreyu Longview 1/7/2013 Vaccinations at Pacific Northwest Veterinary Hospital 87.50
Lakritze London 2/12/2013 Lakritze received a wellness exam with Dr. Jennifer Tavares of Greywolf Veterinary Hospital. We are locating our receipt from this procedure to get the total, in the meantime we are using another rabbit's vet visit as the guide to the cost. 38.03
Resq rabbitz 2/19/2013 Resq went into G.I. stasis and was brought back to the land of the living by Dr. Jennifer Tavares. 71.50
Jasper Naveed 4/22/2013 Jasper was neutered without incident at Northwest Spay & Neuter. Surgery was 70 gas was another 20. 90.00
Thugsy aka Peter Cottontail 6/24/2013 Thugsy aka Peter Cottontail was neutered by Northwest Spay and Neuter on this date. 20.00 gas is included. 90.00
Thugsy aka Peter Cottontail 6/26/2013 Post neuter surgery, Thugsy went into G.I. stasis. NORR pardoned 30.00 of his adoption fee, and raised 109.97 which was the remainer of the vet bill, for Candice and Thugsy. 139.97
Onyx & Boo 8/27/2013 Onyx and Boo were neutered by Northwest Spay and Neuter on this date. 20.00 gas is included.  160.00
Montreal Longview 10/1/2013 We took Montreal in to get neutered, knowing that he wasn't perfectly healthy, had some form of leg issue and might not be ready for a neuter. We gave our primary veterinarian, Dr. Mike Tyler permission to take x-rays and examine him as he saw fit. He was sedated, given bactrim and metacam and had a wide variety of x-rays taken. It was determined that he would not survive anasthesia and that he also had degenerative hip syndrome. 206.83
Resq Rabbitz 10/23/2013 Resq went in for a wellnness check up with Dr. Mike Tyler of Greywolf Veterinary Hospital. He received a clean bill of health. 56.00
Jasper Naveed 10/23/2013 Jasper saw Dr. Tyler at the same time for a wellness checkup. 46.45
Alice
(cat)
10/27/2013 James took over her veterinary care and she cost us nothing. 0.00
Jasper Naveed 11/21/2013 Jasper went in for a routine check up and nail trim with Dr. Tyler at Greywolf Veterinary Hospital. 38.03
Avery, Zorro & Butters 11/25/2013 Avery,  Zorro and Butters were spayed and neutered at Northwest Spay & Neuter. Elaine's gas costs are not included in this total.
220.00
Avery 11/26/2013 A day after surgery Avery underwent G.I. Stasis and was taken in for emergency treatment with Greywolf Veterinary Hospital. She stayed in Dr. Mike Tyler's personal home while he watched her recover. Apparently she had a blood blister on her inside, this was determined with x-rays. She was kenneled for three days, had a catheter and metacam. It was a successful procedure and she stayed in the realm of the living. Thank you Dr. Tyler and all the wonderful people at Greywolf! Dr. Tyler also cut our bill in half... originally it would have been about 700.00. For the purpose of tracking costs, it is still listed at 700.00 in this table, we count Dr. Tyler's discount in the donation area. The actual, printed bill read 331.59 for the total. He basically waved all fees after the first 24 hours. They are awesome! 700.00
Saoirse Isealt 12/10/2013 Saoirse was seen by Dr. Howell at Sequim Animal Hospital for an eye infection. She was given a prescription of ofloxacin. 49.78
Beethoven Bach 12/16/2013 Dr. Short at Sequim Animal hospital treated Beethoven for an abscess on his back and neutered him. He received a prescription for baytril for his abscess, but no pain medication. (Per OPHS) OPHS completely paid for Beethoven's visit, we paid nothing. We know a neuter costs 50.00 and we can assume it was the same price as Saoirse's visit. So it was probably a 100 bill. OPHS's payment of this bill is included in the donation section. 100.00
Total animal veterinarian costs for the year of 2013 2178.34

2013 ANIMAL RESCUE BILLS, MAJOR DONATIONS & ADOTPION FEES

Animal name Date Type of visit and summary Cost
Jasper Naveed 2/5/2013 Jasper was retrived from Angie Huckstep's home with our only cost being gas. We also received a donated cage and food from Angie. The 10.00 reflects gas costs. 10.00
Kalliope March estimate Kalliope was taken into our shelter, being our first cat we had to stock up on things we did not have. Without receipts, 20.00 is a guesstimate. 20.00
Thugsy
AKA
Peter Cottontail
4/22/2013 While we were in Tacoma to get Jasper neutered, we also picked up Thugsy from his owner Liz Gloss. We spent 10.00 in gas driving in circles unable to find her apartment. When we arrived she gave us a 40.00 donation as supplies for Thugsy. Most of the supplies were transferred directly to his new owner, Candice. 10.00
Avery, Onyx & Zorro 5/22/2013 On 5/22/2013 the Olympic Peninsula Humane Society transferred three baby bunnies they could not care for to us. Picking them up cost us gas and we had to boost our non-edible rabbit supplies with them here. Hence the 15.00 15.00
Uknown rabbits 6/1/2013 Around this time we made several unsuccessful attempts to catch two rabbits living in the center of Sequim on the street. After we rescued Montreal we ran out of room, so we shutdown their rescue. 15.00 in gas. 15.00
Montreal Longview 6/17/2013 Montreal was caught in Port Angeles by a Nathan Schiffer. He charged a 20.00 rehoming fee which we paid to save his life. 10.00 for gas is included 30.00
Bubba
AKA
Boo
7/26/2013 Debbie Norman contacted us and begged us to take in this very cute, loveable rabbit. She was moving away to live with her family due to extreme sickness, and begged us to take her in. Elaine picked him up and passed his former cage onto us for use with other rabbits. Elaine's gas costs do not figure into our financials, so there is a 0.00 listed for costs. 0.00
Howard
(duck)
8/14/2013 "Howard" the female duck was rescued from Carrie Blake Park with no special equipment. At the time of his rescue we were throwing a party at the park, and had to drive home to change clothes, thus the 5.00 for gas and a washing machine run (soild clothing). Other than that, rescuing this animal incurred no extra costs.
5.00
Butters 8/19/2013 After living with a rabbit breeder for a few months, a stray bunny we had tried to catch in Sequim was relinquished to our rescue so that he could live a happy life with people! 15.00 in gas was spent between this and previous attempts to catch him. 15.00
Alice (cat) 10/15/2013 Allice was found wandering in the Sequim Safeway parking lot by Cain and Kristina. We took care of her for about a week before adopting her out. The costs represent a guesstimate of food and extra cat supplies. 10.00
Emma (dog) 10/15/2013 Emma was caught running loose in a Wal-Mart parking lot and was returned to her owner the next day. The owner donated $20 to our rescue. The cost is a guesstimate of gas and food used. 5.00
Saoirse
Iseult
12/8/2013 Port Townsend Rabbit Rescue had a dilemma, they had a female rabbit that had an eye infection and had just killed a litter of two kits she had given birth to. Picking her up only cost us gas, hence the 5.00. 5.00
Beethoven Bach 12/11/2013 On 12/11/2013 the Olympic Peninsula Humane Society asked us to take care of Beethoven. He had a cyst / abscess on his back and needed surgery. OPHS offered to pay for the surgery and neuter if we would take him in. OPHS had no volunteers or facilities to properly watch over him and two of their main volunteers were terribly allergic to rabbits. Beethoven's transfer only cost us gas, hence the 10.00. 10.00
Total animal rescue costs for the year of 2013 150.00
